GeoScienceWorld (GSW) is a nonprofit collaborative and comprehensive resource for research and communications in the Earth Sciences. GSW works with societies, institutions, and researchers around the world and provides a single source of access to 46 preeminent scholarly journals, 2,080+ eBooks, and over 4 million GeoRef records with specialized and map-based search capabilities and links to curated earth science research around the Web. Since 2005, GSW has returned more than $34 million to membership societies to achieve their scientific missions.
Delta Think has worked extensively with GSW over several years on a variety of engagements.
Most recently, Delta Think has helped guide GSW as they evaluated new directions and made strategic decisions for the organization and in support of their member societies in the area of open access. Using the Delta Think Open Access Data & Analytics Tool as the basis, we created a custom report with targeted evaluation and analysis of the market landscape as it applied to GSW, reviewed open access models and options in context, and worked with them to identify the right strategic direction for the organization and their member societies. We have also helped them select and implement an integrated online hosting platform to support their extensive and varied portfolio of journals, books, and reference materials, provided project management expertise, and crafted marketing plans and materials that insured comprehensive and timely communications across their broad network of stakeholders.
