Change
is a lot like exercise.
Something
else is always a higher priority.
It can
be strenuous and sometimes it hurts.
It
feels almost impossible during the heavy lifting but when it’s over we remember
it fondly and wonder why it took us so long to get started.
The
more we do it, the easier and more rewarding it becomes.
Is
there anything like relaxing after a good work-out and feeling your muscles
twinge with fatigue?
It’s
as if they’re confirming you’ve accomplished something worthwhile.
The times I’ve experienced the most angst and worked the hardest
in my life are also the times I’ve learned the most.
I
changed.
It
hurt and it felt great!

It sure is! I always think that a little fear (as long as it’s not debilitating) is a good thing – keeps us sharp!
You made me laugh about the typo – I do that on blog comments ALL the time.
oops…typo – should be “tough” not “touch” – darn spell check – why can’t it understand what I think – not what I type 🙂
Once before a presentation to a VERY large client where we were selling a new consulting engagement in an area where we had expertise – but had not provided similar services – I mentioned to my boss that I hadn’t been this uncomfortable before a presentation in a long, long while.
His response… “I think it’s good you’re uncomfortable.”
That was it. We did the pitch, we got the business, we delivered flawlessly and I can’t wait to do it again.
Change is touch – and we need to continually seek it out.
