My 16-year old just got a
job.
She went for her interview
yesterday. It was a group interview.
The manager said that the
store (a retail store in the mall) allows every manager to determine their own
interview technique.
He decided the group of
six candidates should break into two teams and play Cranium.
He hired four of them.
I found this
fascinating. What a great way to find
out about a candidate’s personality and their ability to work as part of a
team.
I want to play Cranium on
my next interview!
Since today is my
birthday, I decided to disappear for a bit.
See you all tomorrow!
Happy (belated) Birthday, Kel. Sounds like we’re building quite the Cranium team with this post!!!
Ann
(PS – read your post about the Lamingtons – they sound delicious!)
I love this story! I got Cranium for my birthday. It would be a lot more fun attending interviews if that was the personality test.
Hi Philippa –
Tell your husband I said happy birthday! Can’t wait to hear how you liked Cranium!
Ann
Happy belated birthday for yesterday, Ann – you MUST be a great person as you share the same Scorpio birthday as my husband!
Just about to learn how to play Cranium with my daughter – so I’m hoping to be a legitimate
“contestant” in a while!
Philippa
Thanks Ellen – I’m trying to get a game of Cranium together with Phil – want to join us?

Happy Birthday Ann!!!! have a great day and be good to you — cranium and all! Thanks for all you think and write – because your site is always fun to visit. make sure you blow all the candles out….
Thanks Valeria!
Thanks, Phil. Come on over and we can play a game!
Drew – He is a young manager (mid twenties?). He got me thinking about group interviews in general. I suppose it’s tough if you’re only hiring one person.
Thanks for stopping by!
Ann
Buon Compleanno Ann!
Your post reminds me that there are so many ways of doing things to make them remarkable experiences.
Ann,
What a smart manager to work for! Is he young? Sounds like someone whose ideas have not been tamped down to fit into a small box. Good for him.
And good for you too — happy birthday! I hope you celebrated it with much laughter and love.
Best,
Drew
Happy birthday Ann. You should play Cranium, because it’s your party and you can play Cranium if you want to!
