I once worked with a great project manager that used to say:
“You can never be more committed to what you’re doing than the organization for which you do it!”
That’s when it’s time to move on – to another project, or another company.

Good point. My PM buddy was saying that you can’t be more committed to the project than the organization is. The idea is that you often end up having to overcompensate for a lack of support only to complete a project that no one is all that thrilled about completing anyway! In these cases this is usually something the organization shouldn’t be doing anyway.
are you saying you can’t be more committed to the project than the organization is? Or don’t be committed to the project more than you are committed to the organization? I see value in both interpretations 🙂
