Design in Business

  May 9, 2007  |    Ann Michael

Scribe Media  has posted a must see video of Jesse James Garrett’s presentation at an Adaptive Path conference in San Francisco.

I don’t usually have the patience to sit through 30+ minutes of video, but time flew by while I watched this one.

Jesse discusses in simple and vivid detail what good design is and the process that produces it.

DISCUSSION

Jesse’s discussion was very similar. He spoke about how some companies try to build a product based on technology alone, others get to features but never get passed there, and that the best products make it all the way through creating a meaningful, simple, and rewarding user experience. His examples were great too.
    Thanks for the great quote!

“Great design is the creative visual thinking process that gets to a deep understanding of user needs colliding with a breakthrough creative idea and a slew of trade-offs..’ Dominique Trempont, INSEAD Business School advisory board member on the importance of Design in Business.
