Vickie Thaw has been working in professional publishing for over thirty years, first at Wolters Kluwer Health and then at Wiley, Inc. She started in human resources, moved to editorial and acquisitions work, headed a pharmaceutical special projects division, started independent custom publishing units, and managed business units and society partnerships as Director of Human Resources, Publisher, Executive Director, and Vice President in a variety of STEM areas. Through these positions she became the go-to person for innovative ideas and projects outside existing business models to help diversify revenue streams.
Vickie is experienced in all business, financial, and management functions. Her areas of expertise include professional society franchises, print and digital offerings, proprietary properties, open access, advertising supported projects, career centers, controlled circulation publications, books, custom content, and increasing revenue and contribution to profit through organic growth and new business opportunities and acquisitions.
